How long have you been considering adopting a cat? It's a big commitment, so it's important to think carefully. Did you think it through or was it a sudden decision?
*
Have you thought about the responsibilities that come with owning a cat?
*
Do you know that cats usually live for about 12-16 years?
*
Do you understand that a cat needs good food, clean water, a stable home, veterinary care, love, and your time? Can you afford the expenses for a cat, such as food, litter, flea treatment, deworming, vet visits, vaccinations, and sometimes special diet? You will also need cat supplies like bowls, litter box, scratching post, carrier, and toys.
*
Do you have children? How do you think they will get along with the cat?
*
Is everyone in your family happy to have a cat in the house? Are there any people close to you who might not want a cat around?
*
Does anyone in your household have cat allergies?
*
Does the cat's personality and needs fit with your lifestyle? If the cat is the only pet, do you have enough time to spend with them? Will they be an indoor cat or have access to both indoors and outdoors?
*
Is this the right time for you to have a pet? If you plan to move soon, it might not be a good idea for now.
*
If you live in a rental home, are pets allowed?
*
Do you know that a cat needs a scratching post to scratch its claws?
*
Who will take care of the cat when you're away for a few days or during holidays?
*
Have you had a pet in the past? If yes, what happened to it?
*
Do you currently have other pets?
*
Do you have any plants in your home? Some plants can be toxic to cats. If so, are you willing to remove any harmful plants to ensure the safety of the cat?
*
Do you understand that cats are obligate carnivores and require a diet that includes animal-based proteins to meet their nutritional needs? Do you agree not to feed the cat a vegan diet, as it cannot provide the necessary nutrients for their health and well-being?
*
Do you live in a house or apartment? If it's an apartment, which floor?
*
Are the windows, balcony, or garden secure enough to keep the cat safe? For the first 2 months, the cat should stay indoors to get used to the new environment and feel safe. This is especially important for young kittens who are not familiar with outdoor dangers and cars.
*
Do you have windows that open inwards ?? this type of windows can easily kill suffocate a cat.
*
If you do have, do you agree to catproof them?
*
Cats often claim their territory, including furniture and beds. Are you okay with the cat jumping on counters, sitting on the couch, or sleeping in your bed or your child's bed?

Adoption Terms:
*
"I have read and completed this application form honestly. I understand that if I leave out information or provide false answers, my application may be denied. I agree that if any omission or falsehood is discovered after the adoption, The CatHouse has the right to take back the cat. I give the CatHouse permission to verify the information provided. If my application is approved, I agree to a home visit by a CatHouse representative on a mutually agreed date. The adoption decision depends on various factors, including the compatibility between the cat and the family. The CatHouse has the final say on the most suitable home for the cat."
Medical Decisions :
*
"I understand that if the cat falls ill, especially with a serious condition, I am expected to consult with The CatHouse before making any major decisions, such as euthanasia. The CatHouse may be able to provide guidance or assistance in managing the cat’s health. Euthanasia will only be considered in cases of vital organ failure, cancer, or similar life-threatening conditions, and must be discussed with The CatHouse first. If I am no longer able to care for the cat or need to rehome it, I agree to inform The CatHouse at least 10 days in advance before returning the cat. This allows The CatHouse to find another suitable home for the cat in a timely manner."
Non-Refund Policy Agreement
*
"I understand that if I decide to return the adopted cat to The CatHouse, the adoption fee is strictly non-refundable under any circumstances. Adopting a cat is a lifelong commitment, not a temporary arrangement or trial. I agree to approach the decision with the seriousness and responsibility it deserves. The emotional and physical well-being of the animal must always come first. By adopting, I accept and understand that returning the cat does not entitle me to any reimbursement, partial or full, of the adoption fee."
